My name is
Theo Gouwens
I have been active in the maritime world for over 35 years, delivering maritime expertise and support in the areas of production-, project management and senior management.
I am happily married and have two children.
I am a highly driven achiever whose work is also my greatest hobby and passion.
Leading a team or project team, ensuring that every member both feels valued and heard, and understands what his or her job is and is able to take on their decision-making responsibilities accordingly – this is what truly motivates me. That also includes reporting issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner.
I enjoy working across the globe and can become hugely energized from dealing with different cultures. As a result, I am flexible and adapt easily to every situation.
Achieving innovation within a company and project is one of the most inspiring parts of my job. After all, you are never too old to learn. The same applies to change management.
The following are fundamental to my approach:

Experience
I have worked in the maritime sector for over 35 years and have held various management (consultant/interim/employment) positions. I derive immense satisfaction from my work even when this means working into the early hours, whether locally or abroad. For me, training younger colleagues provides fulfillment, as I love to share my knowledge.
It gives me a feeling of achievement as well as strengthening your company or department. I enjoy helping companies to improve their projects, production and their operations support departments. Another role that I am happy to take on is that of project leader.
